His work, known for its clarity, simplicity, and musicality, explores human relationships and continues to be performed by companies worldwide. 5 탱고스 5 Tango’s 「5 Tango’s」는 1977년 초연된 작품으로, 아스토르 피아졸라의 음악에 영감을 받아 창작되었다. 탱고의 강렬함과 발레의 정교함을 결합한 작품으로, 지금까지도 전 세계에서 꾸준히 공연되며 ‘탱고와 발레가 완벽히 결합한 유일한 작품’이라는 평을 받고 있다. 5 Tango’s, premiered in 1977, is one of the choreographer’s signature works, created in response to the music of Astor Piazzolla. Blending the intensity of tango with the precision of ballet, the piece continues to be performed worldwide and has been praised as “a rare work in which tango and ballet are perfectly fused.” 캄머발레 Kammerballett 「Kammerballett」는 1995년 초연된 작품으로, 정제된 형식과 단순미를 통해 움직임 자체에 집중하는 한스 판 마넨의 대표작이다. 도메니코 스카를라티, 카라 카라예프, 존 케이지의 음악 위에 간결하고 세련된 움직임이 펼쳐지며 몰입감을 이끈다. 2024년 서울시발레단이 아시아 초연으로 선보였으며, 피아니스트 김태형의 해석이 더해져 음악적 깊이를 더했다. Kammerballett, premiered in 1995, exemplifies Hans van Manen’s aesthetic through its refined simplicity and focus on pure movement. Set to music by Domenico Scarlatti, Kara Karayev, and John Cage, the work unfolds with clean and precise choreography.
