The Sejong Center for the Performing Arts has held the <Sejong Collector's Story> exhibition as a series every year, and this year marks its third anniversary. The collector to be introduced this time is the late Sang-rim Jeong, a lawyer and founder of Naeseorak Baekgong Art Museum.
Collector Jeong collected many paintings for a long time based on his affluent artistic insight and his unique aesthetics.

Although there must be various reasons for a collector to keep different works, the role of supporting an artist also plays an important part. Collector Jeong also worked hard to collect and support the work of various artists including local artists. Among them, he supported the painter Park Jong-Yong, who became his lifelong artistic companion.

In this exhibition, we would like to not only introduce the collection that contains the collector's perspective and aesthetic sense, but also the works of the artist Park, who the collector sponsored.
The Sejong Center for the Performing Arts’ collector's exhibition is expected to help activate the virtuous cycle of the art industry including art collection and artist sponsorship and serve as artistic inspiration for many people. It will be a time of healing for the citizens who are tired of COVID-19, providing an opportunity to enjoy culture and move forward firmly and silently towards the future.

The exhibition is largely divided into two parts. The first part is based on the theme of “A Collector’s Story” and introduces about 40 works by modern and contemporary Western painters from the collection of collector Sang-rim Jeong. The second part introduces about 30 works and focus on the latest works of the “Gyeol” series of Park Jong-Yong, the painter who closely interacted with and was actively supported by collector Jeong under the theme of “A Painter’s Story”.
