The widely beloved violinist Oh Hyun-sun, known for producing rich melodies and masterful bowing, was admitted to and graduated from the Department of Music at Samyook University at the top of her class. She was also admitted to the graduate school of Samyook University at the top of her class and became the first student to earn a master’s degree in the arts from the school. She then went over to the United States, where she acquired a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas.
Oh Hyun-sun, who studied under the tutelage of Yoo Byung-hai, Lee Sun-hyang, Emanuel Borok, Cynthia Roberts, and Igor Borodin, is currently teaching at Samyook University and Samyook University Conservatory. She is a full member of Pi Kappa Lambda, an American honors society for those active in music, and performs with Musica S, a string chamber ensemble, and Yongin Philharmonic Orchestra, as the first chair violinist and the second violinist, respectively.
