British literary novelist J.R.R. Tolkien's great masterpiece 'The Lord of the Rings'

The largest performance project that wrote a new history of Korean film concerts is back! 

The second series of British novelist J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece “The Lord of the Rings”, “The Two Towers”, will be performed again at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, featuring the film accompanied by live music.

While the entire film is shown in ultra-high definition on a giant screen, the orchestra and choir play in perfect sync with the on-screen action to the nearest 0.01 second. Every note and cue is flawlessly matched to the film, creating an experience that truly immerses the audience in the world of Middle-earth.

Symphonic Revolution Orchestra

The orchestra, debuting in 2024 with The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, was formed from the Korea Coop Orchestra and Ditto Orchestra, both of which have been active for many years. 

The Symphonic Revolution Orchestra, a project ensemble, has recruited many young and talented orchestral musicians to bolster the brass section, which is a common weakness in domestic orchestras. 

Down the road, the orchestra aims to solidify its role as a professional recording orchestra and establish its own unique territory by performing symphonies by Mahler, Bruckner, Shostakovich, and more. 

In addition, they will be optimized for works with vibrant orchestral colors, such as film concerts and game music. Recently, they participated in the recording of Samuel Yun's “From darkness to light” under the direction of conductor Kim Kwang-hyun.

Maesta Opera Choir

The Maesta Opera Choir was founded in September 2011 in the hope of “Creating a peaceful world united by music” through choral singing. Over the years, they have grown to become Korea's leading choir. Composed of highly skilled vocal music majors, the choir has maintained its reputation through numerous operas and concerts over 12 years. 

They won the grand prize in the choral section of the 9th Korea Opera Festival organized by the Korea Opera Company Association in 2016. They continue to advance toward becoming a leading artistic organization in Korea through active overseas performances in Tianjin, Harbin, Beijing, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Hangzhou, Qingdao, in China, as well as Torre del lago, Pescara, and Belluno in Italy.

They have performed hundreds of concerts and dozens of operas with the Seoul Metropolitan Opera, Korea National Opera, Baseto Opera, New Seoul Opera, La Bella Opera, Chosun Opera, W Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Orchestra, New Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Concert Philharmonic Orchestra, Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, and others. Through their consistent activities, they continue to uphold its reputation as a leading choir in Korea.

Brillante Children’s Choir

The Brillante Children's Choir, a professional children's performance organization, won the Junior Music Education Performance category at the 14th Korea Education Industry Awards in 2020. They won the grand prize at the Lotte Street Competition, performed at the opening ceremony of the 15th World Forestry Congress (WFC), and participated in various campaigns, including recording a campaign song for the Seoul Metro's care for pregnant women. 

They have appeared in Korea's first kids' opera, “PUPU ISLAND,” at the Seoul Arts Center, as well as in the Korea Opera Festival three times. By performing with the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, they have established themselves as a professional children's performance organization.  

They have appeared in events organized by various organizations, such as the “2019 MBC Bringing New Life to Children” and “100th Anniversary of the Provisional Korean National Council.” In addition, they have been featured in various broadcast programs, including the KBS Creative Song Contest, Who's Good at What, KBS Acting Awards, KBS Live Morning, Channel A's “Vocal Play,” tvN's entertainment program “Troublemaker,” MBC's drama “Time,” and TV Chosun's drama “Uncle.” They have also participated in the recordings of famous children's content and school songs for elementary and middle schools, and charity performances.
