Gerrit Prieẞnitz, a German composer who composed “Sacrament Dressed Up” as a Viennese waltz, is meeting the audience together with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra with waltz and polka melodies. We hope you start the new year energetically with this performance composed of dances and opera overtures by 19th century Austrian composers, including Yohan Strauss II, Joseph Strauss, and Richard Heuberger.

Prieẞnitz has performed in Graz, Maribor, Augsburg, Lucerne, Bologna, Bari, Sofia, Tokyo, Nagoya, and Korea. He has had a dynamic career including performances at German orchestras and opera houses such as the Leipzig Central German Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bamberg Symphony, Beethoven Bonn Festival, Essen Bonn Music Theater, Munich Radio Symphony Orchestra, Halle Staatskapelle, Wuppertal Orchestra, Chemnitz Robert Schumann Philharmonic, Reutlingen Philharmonic in Württemberg, Northern German Philharmonic, Volkstheater Rostock, and Nuremberg Symphony. Gerrit Prieẞnitz has been an opera instructor at Vienna Private University of Music and Arts since 2017.
Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra
The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, which was established as the Korea Symphony Orchestra in 1945, became independent as a foundation in 2005, and under the leadership of its first music director, Jeong Myung Hoon, it has grown internationally by presenting a wide-ranging repertoire. In January 2020, Osmo Vanska, a world-renowned conductor from Finland, took office as the second music director. Regular concerts with world-class guest conductors and collaborators are leading the Korean classical music scene with outstanding musical achievements and programming.
