Summary
There is a man who is not even given a proper name in the drama he is in. fighting a battle against the world with the contrabass. He is a contrabass player sitting in the last row of the orchestra playing under the stage for <Das Rheingold> performed before <Der Ring des Nibelungen> by Richard Wagner. He tells a story about himself and the contrabass that receives little attention in an attempt to shed light on the importance of the contrabass in music, his values and ideals, and his thoughts amid his ideals, as though he is trying to gain some recognition and rediscover his self-worth. As the concert begins, the man cries about his passion and being in a world created by Wagner.
